10 Week Post Partum Update
We’ve had another lovely week in the sunshine and it’s crazy to think we’re now at the 10 week post partum stage. 10 weeks!!!
I know it’s a massive cliche to say it’s flying by but, well, it is. It’s a bit nuts to think that in just a few short weeks he’ll be 3 months’ old and won’t be a newborn anymore.
Every day it seems like he’s grown another centimetre longer – he’s getting so big, so quickly. I’ve now retired all of his Newborn and 1 Month clothes and as I’m not having any more babies ever ever ever, it’s quite sad.
Sleep is pretty good – anything from a 6.5-8.5 hour stretch from 7pm this last week, then another 2-3 hour one and up for the day between 5.30-7am.
He’s napping roughly at 8am, 12pm and 4pm but sometimes falls asleep in between those times too and I just let him sleep for now.
Breastfeeding is still going v well – I really should weigh him as he’s getting so lovely and cuddly now.
I’m on the road to losing the baby weight – and, um, a little extra. I’m 5.5lbs down in the first 2 weeks! Just another million to go.
Otherwise I’m feeling pretty good physically and I’m walking a lot in an attempt to get a bit fitter.
I’m starting to get achy joints sometimes and I think I remember that from this time after my last pregnancy – I think it’s just my body slowly recovering still. Probably also the result of carrying a baby around a lot!
We had a lovely day out Oop Norf to see my bestie who’s over from France on holiday. We went for lunch together with our families and it was so nice to see the kids playing together – she has 3!
Miss M chats to Mini a lot, telling him about her day, what she’s wearing, everything – it’s adorable and he looks at her so intently. I don’t want to wish any time away but I can’t wait until they’re bigger and can play together, she’s so desperate to play with him!
Her favourite thing is to kiss and cuddle him and sometimes, if he’s very lucky, she’ll lick his hair! Hmm. Well, it’s affectionate anyway.
She has had some little jealous moments recently and out comes the bottom lip when she doesn’t always get her own way. We try and be careful to treat both of the kids equally as much as we can and ensure that she doesn’t feel left out. It isn’t always easy of course as newborns do demand so much time – it’s a juggling act.
Overall though, she just loves being a big sister and when she was asked at daycare who her best friend was, she said Mini was – just the sweetest thing for a 2 year old to say!
I hope you’re having a lovely weekend and if any of you are losing weight or getting fit, do comment below so we can support each other :)
