7 Week Post Partum Update
Mini M is 7 weeks old! Here’s our 7 week post partum update
Mini seems to have grown so much and he’s lost that wrinkly newborn look now :). He’s piling on the ounces and starting to get lovely, squishy, chubby arms and legs – which is so adorable!
He seems a bit more ‘robust’ over all. He’s so alert and looking at everything around him constantly – he has his sister’s inquisitiveness for sure.
He’s still quite brown and his eyes sometimes look either brown or blue so it’s too early to tell what he’ll look like. Miss M was the same – started brown with brown hair and eyes. By about 4 months she was pale, blonde and with big blue eyes! Maybe Mini will end up the same as they’re twins so far :)
Sleep is up and down. I DID jinx myself last week as the night after he had much shorter sleeps! He’s gone back to doing 4-5 hour stretches though so it isn’t too bad.
Last night I gave a dream feed a go. I put him down at 7.20pm, stayed up watching TV and then did a dream feed with him remaining totally asleep at 10pm. It worked as he then slept until 3.30am – so 8 hours altogether! It made me wish I’d slept myself before the dream feed though as after that he reverted back to waking up every 40 minutes until I gave up and got up for the day.
Basically from 3am, he won’t sleep more that an hour at a time before waking up – I hope he grows out of that soon. Most of the time it’s actually 30 minutes so I can’t get any more sleep at all. If anyone has any tips on getting him to sleep longer after 3am, please share.
I’m feeling good and overall getting some decent sleep.
I’m potentially joining Weight Watchers this week! Let me know if you’ve done WW before and feel free to send some encouragement. I have a long way (weigh!) to go and I don’t have a goal weight or ‘deadline’ in mind as yet but hoping to think more about that after my first meeting and set some goals.
Last week we had our first family holiday since Mini M was born. We went to North Wales with my parents and had
a brilliant and very relaxing time. We had a day trip to Barmouth Beach which I highly recommend.
I was a bit tired as still only 7 weeks post partum but did a lot of walking and it was brilliant to be outside so much and breathing in the sea air. In fact, the sea air probably make me feel sleepy.
I hope you’re all having a lovely day today celebrating Father’s Day – we’ve been having a lovely family day celebrating Father’s Day as our complete family and Mr M loved his gifts!
