Mini M

Mini M has grown so much and is chubbing up nicely :).  He’s still feeding on demand which works out every 1-3 hours – so most of the day is feeding time still!

He’s moving around so much, waving his arms, rubbing his eyes and ferociously kicking his legs all day and especially during nappy changes.  On the subject of nappies, he’s now moved into size 2’s – that seems to have happened quickly.

Feeding is still going very well and this week I expressed for the first time using my new Lansinoh 2-in-1 Affinity Pro Electric Breast Pump – review here.  I didn’t intend to express this early but Mini was fast asleep and I felt quite engorged so I expressed 100mls – not sure where it all came from as I’d only recently fed him.  Now I have it sat in the fridge and I have no idea what to do with it as I feed on demand.  Can I still freeze it?

Now…on to sleep.  Well, we had a wonderful start to the week with a night-time stretch of 5.5 hours, then 5.75, then 7.5 twice and then…9.5 hours!  NINE AND A HALF!

And then 6.5 :(  and I know I really should NOT complain at that because it’s still great but I’d decided we were going to keep going with the daily extensions until 12 hours!

Oh well, at least I know he can do longer stretches so hopefully we’ll get that again one day…soon.  They were all with no dream feeds too, I decided I couldn’t be bothered with that any more although I only did it twice.

I started Weight Watchers to shift the pregnancy pounds!  It’s going really well so far – with the extra points I’m getting for breastfeeding there is absolutely no chance I will go hungry.  I’m not using up all of my points though, I end the day with about 10 left.  Unfortunately I’ll miss my very first weigh in this week as we’re in London for the day.  I’ll weigh myself at home but it won’t be ‘official’ which is a shame as I think I’m doing really well.  Hopefully I’ll have a nice big official weigh in the week after.

I haven’t decided whether to blog about my weight loss yet – it’s obviously quite a personal thing but at the same time, blogging about it might make me stay on track :)

Our Family

We had a wonderful week in Wales last week.  It was SO much fun, the weather was perfect and it was lovely to have a change of scenery.

Miss M announced that Mini was her best friend and that they are like Topsy and Tim – cute!  Although I hope they end up like Topsy and Tim of the retro book fame, rather than those two annoying ones on CBeebies.

I hope you’re all having a lovely weekend and enjoying the sunshine (in the UK) and I’ll be back next week when Mini M is 2 months old.

Ahhhh! This has made me broody!! I miss them lovely early mornings and night feeds with a scrumptious tiny baby!!! In answer to you expressing question. Yes, you can freeze it after it has Ben in the fridge, but this is best done within 24-48 hours and there are different opinions on this (I’m a Breastfeeding support worker). I used to express and never use it, as my son would only feed from the breast. I froze it and it came in useful through weaning when I could use it on weetabix in the mornings etc

Aww the cuddles are so lovely, despite the sleep deprivation! That’s brilliant about the milk, thank you so much and good tip about using it with cereal too! :)

He’s getting so big! Good luck with Weightwatchers. I was lucky that my pregnancy weight came off very quickly, what with nursing twins, but my post-divorce weight loss has been a far greater challenge. Thanks for linking with #TwinklyTuesday.
