Bluestone Wales Review – Our Accommodation
It’s the second day of our Bluestone Wales review and we’re having a brilliant time so far!
I thought I’d show you a peek inside the beautiful lodge we’re staying in.
It’s a 4 bedroom, 2 storey lodge and sleeps 8 people. I’m here with my husband and 2 children and we have so much room, which is handy given that I crazily over-packed. I will never learn.
Our front door opens into a large entry room that easily houses our double stroller.
Also downstairs is a large and open plan living room, dining room and kitchen, decorated with comfortable leather sofas, wooden floors and furniture. The double height ceiling in the living room is cladded and adds to the ‘lodge’ look beautifully. One of the twin bedrooms and a separate bathroom is downstairs.
Upstairs are the other 3 bedrooms. One of the bedrooms is a double with ensuite and we’ve chosen that one. Then there are 2 other twin rooms.
The bedrooms are more than ample and I haven’t slept on such a comfortable bed (apart from my own) in a long time.
The shower in our ensuite is awesome too – very powerful and spacious. There is also another family bathroom upstairs – no queues for the loo here!
The lodge is lovely, light and airy with so many windows giving amazing views at every outlook throughout the park.
French doors from the lounge lead to a paved patio area with wooden outdoor dining furniture for picnics or a sneaky glass of wine after the kids have gone to bed.
On the subject of kids, this lodge caters for small children really well. We were provided with a cot for Miss M and there are stair gates at each end of the staircase. Mr M decided the cot was broken and had to call reception on the first night. They arrived at the door in less than 5 minutes with a replacement cot – only to let him know he’d done it wrong! Brilliant service though and they fixed the issue in no time.
When you arrive at Bluestone Wales, you’re able to drive right up to your lodge to unload bags and then take your car to the main carpark which is just a 5 minute walk from where we are. The resort has a ‘no cars’ policy otherwise which means there is room to move around, no noisy vehicles and it’s safer for the kids to wander around. There is the option to hire buggies that can carry up to 4 people. We haven’t needed to but if we were staying further from the car park or the centre of the resort, we may have hired a buggy.
I’ve loved staying in this lodge so far. It’s set in such a tranquil location yet nearby to all the amenities, is finished to a very high standard and caters for our family’s needs so well.
Miss M has enjoyed having free reign to run around and pop in and out of the different rooms without tripping over our mess at home too!
Now I’m off for that glass of wine before I crawl into my lovely, comfy bed after a busy day at Folly Farm and Tenby :)
