Hape Color Croquet Review
We’ve had so much rain in NSW recently which has been nice in a way and made me think of home – rain is very British after all.
At the same time, it makes life difficult sometimes when trying to occupy an energetic 2 year old! Miss M loves playing outside, she loves running around and burning off steam and rainy days stop that.
Luckily for us, the lovely people at Hape sent us their Color Croquet kit and it’s been the perfect game for rainy days.
The kit comes with 4 colourful tunnels, 2 mallets and 2 balls.
We set the tunnels up in our tiled living room and spaced them apart from each other. Miss M has quite a good aim when she throws a ball but she’s never used a mallet or even a bat to hit a ball before so it was a brand new skill for her.
We helped show her how to hold the mallet and gently tap the ball to try and get it through the tunnels one by one.
It was a challenge to get her to hit it gently of course – she would give it a good whack for a long time before it clicked that it wasn’t working out!
The tunnels are numbered 1 to 4 so as the kids get older and learn to read and understand numbers, they’ll be able to add to their skill by tapping the balls through in order.
The kit is so beautifully made from wood and waterproof paint in lovely, bold and bright colours.
Of course it isn’t limited to indoor use! It could also be used on our deck or garden too – well that’s if Mr M gets his act together to mow the lawn :)
