Home Office Ideas for my new Workspace!

Home Office Ideas for my new Workspace!

One of the biggest things I’ve been looking forward to about moving into our new home is setting up my new workspace and I’ve had so many home office ideas.

I’ve worked from home for years now but never had a dedicated space just for me – unless you can count the sofa or dining table.

I’m so happy that we finally have some space for me to have my own desk and little ‘work from home’ set up – perfect for a blogger and freelance writer!

I’ve had so many home office ideas about how I want to decorate and a few things were important: not taking up too much space, somewhere that was just for me where my laptop and paperwork is safe and somewhere I really enjoyed working and am comfortable.

I had my eye on a lovely white desk from Freedom Furniture for a few weeks and when it went on sale, I knew it was fate and bought it for almost half price!

I also have a bit of a fetish with Kikki K – EVERYTHING from Kikki K!  My lovely husband bought me a large Mint Planner for Christmas and that will have pride of place on my new desk when it’s all set up.

Here are the products above that are on my wishlist so far:

1.  Kikki K Large Mint Planner

2.  Officeworks Light Oak Magazine File

3.  Freedom Furniture Zed Mobile Storage

4.  Kikki K 3 Pack of Ahoy Pens

5.  Kikki K Mini Stationery Kit

6.  Freedom Furniture Carter Desk

7.  Officeworks Light Oak Storage Drawers

8.  Officeworks Acrylic Pen Stand

I’ve also been buying some other lovely stationery from Kikki K and will show you that soon.  For those of you in the UK, fear not as they’ve opened up in London recently so no more crazy shipping charges from Australia.

I had a little @kikkik_loves shopping spree! #ilovestationery #kikkik #lovefrommim

I really like white and mint and I’m a bit undecided as to whether to add any more colours into my home office theme but if so, it will probably be a light wood.  Either that or more white!

I have my desk built and I’m sat here right now!  As soon as I’ve set up my drawers and desktop stationery properly I’ll post some pics.

Do you work from home?  If you have any tips on setting up a home office or working from home, I’d love to hear them.

I spend a lot of time on Pinterest, pinning gorgeous pics of other home offices – you can follow that board here:

Aw cute ideas, I desperately need space but we don’t really have anywhere in our house! x

Thank you! I feel so lucky that we finally have somewhere with a little corner for me! Well, when I can keep the toddler’s prying arms away :) x x

We have a lovely sunroom which I’d love to turn into a home office – but first I need to start making some $$$ so I can claim justify claiming the space for my own! One day…

Oh that would be so so lovely! So nice to work in great light and a happy place like a sunroom would be perfect :) x

I love the colours, they are so fresh! Having an uncluttered environment is really important as there are enough distractions when you are working from home. I really need to sort out my desk draws and do some filing. It’s a dull job though and I keep putting it off! I hope you’re enjoying your lovely new work space x

I love Mint so much – which is difficult as the hubs isn’t a fan! x x

Fab ideas and love the colour choice :) It’s nice when you have a dedicated work space. I work from home occasional and love having an office/study to go and work in. Makes me more productive.

Thank you! I know exactly how you feel, it’s so nice to have a ‘proper’ workspace at home :)

I love these ideas. Hubby and I will be moving into a new home soon and I’m going to have an office space. I’ve been looking around for great ideas to incorporate that don’t cost a lot of money and I seem to have found a few here, so thank you!

      Thank you so much! x

I love it, Mim! Looking pretty sharp there! I cannot wait to see the finished. I am in the middle of an office makeover myself (I’m still a couple weeks away from being finished, though). How did you select a Kiki planner? I am currently using a Plum Paper Planner, but thinking about switching.

Thanks Regina! I love Kikki K products and I’d wanted one for years – the Large one is big enough for me :) x

I really need to get our study/office sorted, it’s a complete dumping ground at the moment!

    • 24th January 2016 / 6:07 pm

I’m slowly getting there, keeping it tidy is a different thing altogether :) x

This will look so fab! I love everything you chose. I wish we hahad space for a home office but it’s my lap for now. Unless we demote one of the children and use their bedroom #brilliantblogposts

Your ideas are great. You can get a lot of advice from others, well no offense for those who already gave some and to those who are still planning to, but my advice is to just follow what you think is the right design for you. Something that will keep you motivated all throughout your working hours. Design your office space with something you think is conducive for working.
