MAMA Academy – Positive About Pregnancy
I heard of MAMA Academy first a few months ago when I was sent a Wellbeing Wallet which has been brilliant in keeping all of my maternity notes together safely as well as providing some really helpful pregnancy related information. It’s zip lock style fastening is so much more reliable that the flimsy envelope my hospital provided.
I’m going to be working with MAMA Academy more over the coming months and really love their message of helping mums and midwives to help babies arrive safely.
A little more about MAMA Academy:
MAMA Academy is a registered charity working alongside The Royal College of Midwives with the aim of helping babies arrive safely. All of their information has been written by their medical team of health professionals and their website is RCM accredited for professionals.
Their vision statement is: “to be the UK’s leading charity providing information to expectant mothers and their health care professionals, to promote positive pregnancies resulting in the safe delivery of healthy babies”.
Their mission is to reduce the numbers of stillborn babies in the UK by:
- Raising awareness of baby loss.
- Empowering parents with vital knowledge and education on health in pregnancy and when to call their maternity team for advice.
- Supporting healthcare professionals by keeping them up to date with the latest practices, guidelines and research to provide consistent maternity care.
Why I want to help
I’m currently pregnant with my second baby and have been so lucky to have had smooth pregnancies. This isn’t the case for all mums though and I want to do all I can to help to support other mums during their pregnancies.
Pregnancy can be a daunting time for any parent and I love MAMA Academy’s mission to empower parents with knowledge about healthy pregnancies and where they can go to for support if needed.
I’m so privileged and proud to be one of MAMA Academy’s Blog Ambassadors and cannot wait to share more with you over the coming months.
How you can help
You can Fund a Folder – when you purchase your Wellbeing Wallet, you have the option to fund one for another mum to be too!
You can also get involved by helping to distribute the folders if you are part of a trust, antenatal group or children’s centre.
