March Favourites 2016

Here are some of the things I loved last month – my March favourites:

1.  The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying by Marie Kondo

I finally finished reading this brilliant book. It claims that by following Marie Kondo’s method, you can “transform your home into a permanently tidy, clutter-free space and be amazed at how your whole life changes.”

To follow the book to the letter, you are supposed to tidy your whole house in one go but I’m unable to do that because we have so much stuff still in boxes since we emigrated back to Australia and I’m not always well enough.

However, I’ve already discarded about 10 large bin bags worth of stuff! I already feel so much more relaxed at home and I look forward to continuing this process until it’s complete. I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

Check out my ‘tops’ drawer – have you ever seen such an organised drawer?!

2.  Dermalogica Ultracalming Cleanser

My skin is so sensitive from the chemo but this lovely cleansing gel is perfect. I wash my face with it in the shower, rinse with water and pat my skin dry with a towel.

I love Dermalogica and even before chemo, my skin has always been a bit sensitive. This cleanser is ph-balanced too.

3.  Nivea Micellar Water

I hadn’t heard of Micellar Water until recently when Nivea kindly sent me some to try.

It’s also for sensitive skin like mine and is a 3 in 1 cleanser for face and eyes. I pop some on a cotton pad after my shower and gently massage it over my face.

It removes anything the cleanser might have missed and leaves my face feeling lovely and refreshed.

4.  Nivea Sun Protect Lip Balm

Another Nivea favourite of mine are their lovely lip balms. I’m using this Sun Protect one currently, again because of how sensitive the chemo has made my skin.

It has an SPF of 30 and is waterproof and lasts ages. It does taste a little bit of sunscreen (obviously!) but I’m used to that now and soft, protected lips are more important to me!

5.  Sally Hansen Complete Care 7 in 1 Nail Treatment

I’ve been a Sally Hansen fan for years although mainly for their coloured nail polishes and gel manicure kit.

This nail polish is perfect for me right now though for keeping my nails strong during my treatment.

What were your favourite things in March?

Your drawers are amazing! I’ve been reading the book and am doing well with decluttering but I’ve yet to embrace the folding, my clothes are stored on deep shelves as I have no drawers and I’m not sure the best way to do it yet, it really is a life-changing book.
