Mini M is 8 Months old!
Mini M is 8 months old! We’ve had a busy week with hospital trips and moving house and Mini has been a little delight and keeping us cheered up at every opportunity.
All of sudden he’s very active and wriggling around constantly. He also has his sister’s nosiness and wants to see everything around him.
He isn’t on the move yet but I’m secretly still very pleased as two mobile babies would be a bit exhausting right now! Miss M was a late crawler and then walked at 13 months so maybe he’ll be the same.
He sits up very well and is very happy is he’s surrounded by toys and things to pick up and bang around. We got him some building blocks and a rattle for Christmas and he loves playing with anything brightly coloured. Especially anything he can put in his mouth and chew on!
No teeth yet though :)
So far he eats all the food we’ve given him although it took him a while to get used to banana. I don’t blame him, it’s disgusting! However I don’t want to pass my food phobias on to my kids so we were persistent and he doesn’t screw his little face up at it now.
Mini is such a little chatterbox with lots of Bababa and Mamama if I’m very lucky. He also makes a funny impatient grizzle noise if we’re not quick enough with his milk or food! I’ll be posting soon about how we’re getting on with baby led weaning with him but he loves it so far. He has as big an appetite as his big sister!
Mini is still such an easy baby. He’s been sleeping through (in his own room at last!) from 6.30pm to 6.30am for a long time now and only very occasionally wakes up which, given our current situation, is an absolute blessing and we’re very grateful.
He also sleeps on his tummy like his big sister. As with her, we turned him back over for the first few nights but then gave up as he clearly loves it that way :) I’m so pleased that he’s sleeping through as it’s such a challenging time for us at the moment and we all need all of the sleep we can get. Maybe he can sense that?
Occasional him and his sister wake up but usually only for a quick cuddle and back to sleep.
Miss M is 3 at the end of March and we’re still working on getting her out of nappies but we’re almost there. We’ve just had so much on with emigrating, having a baby and hospital visits that we haven’t forced the issue, we’re going with the flow and is seems to be working well for us.
Now let’s hope that continues!
Disclosure: I’ve collaborated with a Babies Lounge for this post :) My two babies are both in disposable nappies but I’ve always wondered if it might have been an idea to try cloth nappies. Many friends do and say the cost-effectiveness, especially if you can reuse the covers on the next baby, are really great. It’s too late for me to try now but for anyone interested in researching the best cloth diapers for newborns and babies then check them out for more info :)
