My Goals for 2016

My Goals for 2016

It’s just occurred to me that it’s nearly the end of the year and I haven’t given any thought to my goals for 2016!

Don’t judge me, I’ve been busy :)

My Goals for 2016 - Blogging Goals for 2016

So, I’ve thought long and hard (for all of 2 minutes) and I’m setting myself these 10 goals:

1.  Move house

I’m already part way through this.  We’re moving next week.  Nice easy one to tick off this list in the first month :)

2.  Get used to my new short hair

And try my best to KEEP it through chemo.  Come on hair, stick with me.

3.  Keep my eyebrows!

If the hair goes, it goes.  For the love of God let me keep my eyebrows though, purlease!  And my eyelashes.  I’m not quite sure that this is a good goal really as there isn’t much I can control about it.

I could Sellotape them on?  Shall I tape my eyebrows on to my head?

4.  Lose a bit of weight

Now I’m quietly confident with this one – chemo is so far proving awesome for incidental weight loss.  Win!

5.  Do a bit of exercise

Maybe walking – it’s good for the soul isn’t it.  I’m going to make an effort to walk Mini M a few times a week as that’s stopped recently.

This is slightly hindered by Mr M driving over our bloody pram!  It’s a little bit mangled.

6.  Plan

I got a beautiful fancy planner for Christmas and intend to use it to plan my blog a little better – I’ll post more on that soon.  Well, I plan to.

7.  Get through treatment

I figure I’ll be done with the chemo and radiotherapy by around Aug/Sept.  Whilst I don’t want to wish my time away, I’m focussing on that end goal and getting there a day at a time.

8.  Make an attempt at pretty

I’ll be honest, I look as rough as I feel at the moment – but I’m going to attempt to not give in to the urge to be a slob.

That said, having cancer is a lovely justification to extend my post-pregnancy comfortable wardrobe – hello elasticated waist bands, don’t mind if I do wear you again today!

For the sake of my marriage I’ll try and make a small effort to look like a lady though.  Hopefully a lady with EYEBROWS!

9.  Be a fun Mum

And not just a poorly, tired, sleepy Mum.  I plan to make the most of my ‘up’ days and fill them with playtime, laughs and cuddles with my adorable bambinos.

10.  Beat Cancer

Pretty self explanatory.  I plan to be cancer free by approximately September.

And I think that’s just about enough goals for 2016 for me!

What about you, any New Years resolutions?

Or any tips on prolonging the life of chemofied eyebrows?

That is a lot of goals. I like the Cancer free one the best. You can do this. I know your spirit may feel week at times, but you are so strong. Thanks for sharing. Now I need to work on actually writing mine down too. You are not the only one who is late.

Happy New Years to you and your family.

Ha ha love this! Got to admit, the eyebrow thing plus M running over your pram made me hoot! Erm…HOW??!!

If it’s any small consolation, due to NEVER ever having eyebrows and having to draw them on my whole life, I am considering getting them tattooed!! If I do it I shall be a guinea pig just in case!! But yes, yours are very magnificent so get the Sellotape out ????????????

    • 31st December 2015 / 8:58 am

Bloody pram is a right mess ha! It was behind the ute and he reversed right over it!! I totally want you to be the eyebrow tattoo guinea pig – that is your 2016 goal :) x

As they say…. kick cancers butt!!!

I hope you achieve all your goals and more, I will spare a thought for your eyebrows and hope you get to keep them (I would pray but I am not religious! ????)

I would say be pretty but if you feel like being a slob that will be fine (and so it bloody should be) by everyone else!!

Look forward to catch up with you through out the year to see how you are progressing with these!!

Go Mim! When my friend was undergoing treatment she went and had her nails done every couple of weeks, she said it really helped her feel feminine so maybe try that? Best of luck and loads of love for 2016 xx

    • 1st January 2016 / 8:08 pm

Oh yes yes love it – and apparently it’s good for your nails to have polish on during chemo as helps protect them too :) Happy New Year lovely!! x

  7. 2nd January 2016 / 3:31 am

This is a wonderful list, I love how positive you are. If the eyebrows fall out you could always draw them on? I hear that’s the done thing these days :).good luck with all your treatment, you can do it mim!x #TheList

Oh Min you know what you ARE amazing. I can’t imagine what you are going though, yet you are going through it and still writing like a dream. I believe it is quite ‘in’ to draw your eyebrows on with a big marker pen so you will be o.k. Lots of love my darling lady xxxx

    • 7th January 2016 / 10:34 am

Thank you beautiful!! Writing is helping more than I could imagine. I’m definitely going to have fun drawing the eyebrows on! x x

Sellotape sounds AWESOME & made me chuckle – I bet it would look better than most drawn on ones!!
Number 10 is the one that I know is top of the agenda and can’t wait to see you smash the arse off cancer. Here with sellotape & PLENTY of stretchy leggings for ya xx

    • 7th January 2016 / 10:32 am

Hee hee thanks lady! I am going to need so much practice drawing them on! x x

  16. 8th January 2016 / 8:31 am

Love this post and your fab attitude! It did make me chuckle, especially the part about taping on your eyebrows. I love some of the others suggestions of tattoed eyebrows or drawn on eyebrows, these definitely have to be better and perhaps slighly less painful than tape ;-) Emily x

    • 8th January 2016 / 7:56 pm

Thank you lovely – ha ha yes, I might try and stop myself with the sellotape for a bit longer :) x

  17. 10th January 2016 / 8:21 am

‘Hell yeah’ to all of the above! No tips on keeping your eye brows I’m afraid but I did know someone with alopecia who had hers tattooed on. I had no idea until she pointed it out! Xxx

    • 10th January 2016 / 12:23 pm

Hee hee! I’m totally going to look into that as apparently they don’t grow back as much as they were before either argh x

  18. 12th January 2016 / 5:40 pm

Oh Mim I love how positive you are being, and so funny at the same time! You can do it…kick cancers ass! ????

    • 12th January 2016 / 7:27 pm

Thank you lovely! I am totally going to knock it into next week! Or, well, next century or something! x x x
