20 Weeks Pregnant
The day has arrived for my 20 weeks pregnant scan – I’m so excited and nervous and excited and nervous.
Although the pregnancy felt like it had dragged for so long, now it’s a bit crazy that I’m already halfway there. Such a cliché I know!
This week has been a bit manic with appointments as I had a booking appointment at the hospital, then I had a general update with another midwife and then the scan later today. Oh and I had a flu jab booked but that’s put off to next week now as I have a cold argh. I hate needles so I’m glad of the delay.
I don’t know whether it’s the amount I’m consuming or this is normal but in the past few days I feel like I’ve had the biggest growth spurt. I REALLY look pregnant now, it’s a bit crazy. I’ll try and remember to take a bump pic this weekend.
I’m a bit worried that I’ve over eaten so I’m going to try and be a little bit better with food – so difficult over Christmas though. Last pregnancy I gained around 19lbs and I’m really hoping to try for about the same this time, rather than any more.
But there are so many lovely delicious treats around me EVERYWHERE!
And it’s Winter, and I want comfort food, and chocolate, and bad things. Oh dear. If anyone has recommendations for healthy but still yummy snacks, please let me know. Meal-wise, I think I’m quite healthy but I really struggle for the in between stages and it’s too easy to grab something naughty.
I’ve had crazy dreams all week so the hormones are clearly still in full force and it’s getting more and more uncomfortable to sleep now as I get bigger and my joints get looser. Can anyone recommend a pregnancy pillow? I really think I should invest in one this time round.
Although busy, it’s been a fun week and it’s definitely beginning to look a lot like Christmas! We’re going to put our tree up at home this weekend but we’ve put up the one at work – it’s a bit of a shocker but it’s getting us into the Christmas spirit nonetheless so I’m happy.
I’ll check back in after my scan with the results – we’re still set on not finding out the gender so we won’t be looking at it too carefully – well not THOSE bits, you know.
Did you find out your baby’s gender?
